Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. Full of history, the area offers a community rich with diversity, the arts, technology, vineyards, hiking, canoeing/kayaking and many other activities.Germanna Community College is in search of an experienced physical therapist to fill the position of Director of Clinical Education (DCE). The initial appointment is a 10-month, faculty-ranked position. The DCE is responsible for didactic instruction and oversight of clinical education, including developing and maintaining contractual clinical relationships and placing and monitoring students during clinical placements. This is a ten-month faculty position. Graduate of an accredited physical therapy programEarned professional degree as a physical therapistActive, unrestricted PT license/certification in any United States jurisdiction and eligible for licensure in VirginiaMinimum of three years full-time post-licensure clinical practiceMinimum of 2 years of experience as a center coordinator of clinical education (CCCE) and/or clinical instructor (CI), or experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in a physical therapist assistant or physical therapist programClinical or educational administration experiencePrior teaching experience (academic, clinical, continuing education, in-service)Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and counseling skillsCurrent knowledge and skill in the use of information and computer technology or proven ability to learn these skillsKnowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal and practice issues affecting clinical education, students and the profession of physical therapyAbility to initiate, administer, assess and document clinical education programsAbility to work independently and coordinate work with colleagues and peersWillingness to travel as needed
