Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree plus five years of physical therapy experience, or Master's Degree, or Master's equivalent, or Doctorate required.
Current licensure as a Physical Therapist with the State of Maryland is required.
Three years full time experience as a licensed Physical Therapist is required.
Current CPR certification is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient knowledge of Physical Therapy techniques and practices is required. Knowledge within the particular area of specialty is preferred.
Ability to oversee and direct the work of therapy personnel, assign work priorities, audit work quality, orient and train, and implement corrective action, appropriately, with little direction.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient populations(s) served. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and ability to assess data reflective of the patient's requirements relative to his or her population-specific and age specific needs.
Working Conditions
Weekend, shift work, holiday, on-call, and overtime may be required.
There is potential for regular exposure to patients possessing infectious disease in the work environment requiring observance of "Standard Precautions" by wearing protective clothing and following safe work practices.
